Wait staff is nice and attentive too. The pecan pie is the best you’ll have outside the Deep South. Although they have some fly’s around the old school ambience, wait staff, and the incredible Oklahoma onion burgers are delish. I recommend “the Original”, Big D, Fire in the Hole, and, if you’re feeling daring, the Pregnant Lucy. Onion Rings and Fries are made and cut by hand. They do take cards. 1938 Addendum: Do Not Leave Hamburger Inn without a piece of Pecan Pie, seriously. Wow.

If you are looking for the quintessential American diner and coffee shop experience, Hamburger Inn nails it! Originally opened in 1938, the popular restaurant moved across the street in 1956 to a building decked out in fantastic mid-century modern architecture, decor and styling. Their reputation for great classic burgers and amazing fresh-baked pies is well-known, and the food quality during my visit did not disappoint. But the real story here is the owner, Elyssa. Youthful, bright and bubbly, she immediately greets you with a smile and truly authentic warmth. You can IMMEDIATELY tell Elyssa loves her place and also the people who come in to grab a bite and maybe shoot a little breeze. And these folks are bringing in their kids; introducing them to the fun of sitting at a counter, tackling a burger and tots — and adding them to another generation of the Hamburger Inn fan base. I highly recommend you stop by, belly up, and enjoy a great time. And while you're awaiting your order, ask Elyssa about a certain photo proudly displayed for all to see. The twinkle in her eyes will make your day.

Felt like I went back in time a bit. This place is classic. Sweet loaded taking my order, counters as worn as my old man back, and delicious food!

Fast. Friendly. Fresh. Our visit to Hamburger Inn was a success. I have wanted to try the original Oklahoma Onion Burger for a while now, and I was not disappointed. The onions were cooked perfectly and the meat tasted so good. French fries and onion rings were hot and crispy. The tea was excellent. They have the good crushed ice perfect for munching. Very reasonably priced it cost 19.03 for two people to eat with drinks.
